DRUGCROPS

Fighting Drought With Small Molecules

Home: Welcome

ABOUT THE PROJECT

DrugCrops is a H2020 project aimed to discover and develop new drugs to improve plant productivity under drought conditions. We will acquire and exploit knowledge about the Abscisic Acid (ABA) receptors in crop plants to carry on a drug discovery pipeline in collaboration with the BioFarma Unit at USC. We will also produce structural data on crop ABA receptors through our partnership with the IQFR-CSIC. Structural, biochemical and biological approaches will help us to further develop refined chemicals with better chances to work in real world situations .

THE SCREENING IS UP AND RUNNING

We have visited Santiago de Compostela to setup the conditions for the screening. With the help of the BioFarma group at USC the "in vitro" assay is now working on a 348-well plate format. The screening just started. So excited!
